Christmas Cards #SpoilerAlert

Long time no post...sorry about that.

So I started making these Christmas Cards back in August but life got in the way and I've just finished them yesterday.  I still have to address the cards and put them in the mail, so #SpoilerAlert for anyone receiving them.  Hopefully I can get them out in the mail tomorrow so they'll arrive before Christmas.

I used the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack with the matching card bases and envelopes.  I love them but by the time I realized I wanted to purchase more, they were completely sold out.  Below is the page of the 2018 Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog where you can see the details since they're no longer on online.

I made 20 3" x 4" cards and 20 4" x 6" cards in 22 different designs.  Some of the designs were CASED so I can't take complete credit ... huge THANKS to everyone who posted their cards as inspiration.

Time Zones and A Challenge

I made the card, took the picture and was getting ready to go to bed. I decided to double check the submission deadline time, to see if I could post it Monday after work or if I had to do it during my lunch break.  4pm AEDT...ok, I'll have to do it during my lunch, no problem.

Then it hit me, AEDT, that's a weird way to say Eastern Daylight Time...so I googled and it was already almost 3pm AEDT because AEDT stands for Austrian Eastern Daylight Time.

I guess this is why it's called Global Design Project.  This submission is for #GDP150, a fun sketch with lots of entries.

Second Post...Another Challenge

It's been over a week since my first post and in that time, I've thought of countless things I wanted to post here...but I'm trying to pace myself.

Today's post is a response to the Freshly Made Sketches # 349 Challenge.

When I first saw this sketch, I thought, "no problem, this is going to be easy," and then I didn't know what to do. So many people were submitting cards to this challenge and I was worried that my submission would never be as good.  I was worried about how I would make mine card standout.  So I spent my weekend working on tons of other cards, thinking that I would come back to this when inspiration struck.

And then, at the ninth hour (it was actually after 9pm on Sunday night), I decided it was time to put stamp to paper...whatever came out of the process, I'm here to have a good time and avoid doing the dishes.

In the end, it's a simple card but I love this paper and embossing powder so much.  I don't think the picture does the embossing powder justice as it has flecks of different colors in it.

What Am I Doing?!?

This is my first blog post and I have no idea what I'm doing and/or if I'm doing it correctly.  I figured it doesn't hurt to try right?!

Why Am I Doing This?
Simple, I've been inspired to create a card based upon a challenge some of my fellow Stampin' Up demonstrators posted and I needed someplace to display it...

But also because I want to be able to give the appropriate credit to the real authors when I case cards or find cool techniques.
