Visiting the Parents

Does anyone else get a little bored when you're visiting the parents? I went over a few weeks ago and decided to bring along a little craft project to work on while I was there. I decided to bring a coloring project since it's easy to color and chat with my parents at the same time. And since I'm still building up my birthday card stash, I thought these candle stickers would be the perfect coloring project.

A Year of Birthdays

When I first saw the Days To Remember Stamp Set, I wanted it . . .  I added it to my shopping list. Then I wondered if I should really get it. Would I only use it to make calendars once a year? Would that be a justifiable expense? Then I saw this picture from the catalog and I had an idea . . . .

. . . a Year of Birthdays. One card for each month. Each month could be slightly themed to the month/season and then I would always have a last minute birthday card. I used only papers from the Pattern Party collection. One side is a pattern with color and the other side is a black and white pattern. I took alcohol markers to those black and white patterns and added a little color, so versatile.

Countdown to Christmas (Hanukkah and Halloween)

Did you know that Christmas is 123 days away? Hanukkah is 96 days away and Halloween is just 68. That might sound far off but it'll be here before we know it. So while I continue to increase my birthday stash, I decided to use the same layout to make some Hanukkah and Halloween cards as well.

Now I have to admit that the card I cased is far superior to my own. Patricia used that beautiful Fine Art Floral DSP (retired) that just shines in the original design. You can see it here along with all the cutting dimensions.

Happy Birthday to Me

Yesterday was my birthday and as we all know, birthdays during covid times are a bit different, a bit quieter. So I decided to use part of my day to work on increasing my stash of birthday cards. I used a lot of retired products to case a fantastic card by Amy Koenders.

Office Birthdays and Return to Work

So I'm back in the office a few days a week, which means we're back to celebrating office birthdays and I needed some quick cards asap (nothing like waiting till the last minute to make a card).

When searching for inspiration online, I came across the perfect card by the Paper Pixie so I decided to case it. She has all the paper measurements at her site (see link below) and I of course, had to create the card in two different color palette. Do you have a favorite?

Paper Pumpkin and More...

Happy Sunday!!

Big week for me, I gave notice at my job so this coming friday is my last day. I start the new job the following monday so I'm getting a little anxious, nervous and excited. Best cure for all these emotions (for me) is crafting.

I decided to work on a Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin kit that I started ages ago but was just sitting on my table collecting dust. I completed the kit per the instructions but I had all these leftover pieces. I then started sorting the leftovers into toss and store piles, which was harder than it sounded. But why make these tough decisions if I could just make more cards with the leftovers?

I made 11 cards with these leftovers. I even used a retired stamp set I had never used before, getting one step closer to my resolution of using all my stamp sets. I used 2 complete sheets of DSP, making some of these cards a One Sheet Wonder as well. I just love when none of the pretty paper is wasted.
